Langley School PTA has developed a number of fundraising events. Here are some of the key ones:-
Notcutts Exclusive Evenings - Spring events where parents, teachers, friends and family are invited to Notcutts for a special evening of floral demonstration of how to create professional quality hanging baskets. The evening is rounded off with refreshments is rounded off with refreshments and an opportunity for exclusive shopping at discounted rates. The Christmas event follows a similar format with the focus being on the creation of Christmas decorations and seasonal trimmings for the home. Great themed seasonal events with a practical purpose and a profit margin of around £200.
The Great Langley Annual Jumble Sale - All manner of jumble is collected by PTA volunteers from homes in the surrounding area and together with contributions directly to the school, a small mountain of jumble accumulates in the dining hall. An army of volunteers work feverishly to sort the items into clothes, furniture, electrical, bric-a-brac etc ready for the enthusiastic crowds arrival the next day. A table top sale is held at the same time in the hall allowing pupils opportunity to buy and sell their own goods and keep the profit! The PTA contribution comes from one-off fee for each table. After a hectic three hours of business on Saturday the exhausted volunteers have the satisfaction of delivering a healthy profit back to the school.
Quiz Nights - Held usually twice a year, the Langley Quiz nights are open to all comers who are organized into six strong teams. The lighthearted atmosphere doesn't dampen competitive spirit and mental energy is fueled by a licenced bar and food provided as part of the ticket fee.
Prize Draw - Now in it's second year - high value prizes (iPod, DVD Players, Digital Camera, TV's and much more including free sausages from the local butcher!) attract huge interest and funds are bolstered by PTA claiming 'cash match' where these schemes exist with their employers.
Rock Fest - A major event in the summer of '03. Our own mini 'Woodstock' with three hours (man) of barbeque, fun, games and above all music - not to mention the raffles and sideshows all open to pupils, family, friends and the general public. Performed by the brilliantly talented students and the hugely accomplished teachers in their own band. Organised by the PTA and LAngley Music Staff - a fantastic day that made the school over £1000.
Plant Sale - The PTA has negotiated with local nurseries some fantastic prices for a variety of plants. Don't waste your money at the local superstores, buy high-quality plants from us and support the school at the same time. Thanks to everybody who supported the sale this year.

Easter Draw - supported by Cadbury via PTA. All eggs and creme eggs provided.
Sponsorship of major projects - The PTA contributed over £2000 to the refurbishment helping to purchase tables, chairs and computer equipment.
Insurance for the School minibus annually.
Press advertising for large events.
Contributed to the refurbishment of the entrance hall.
Ad-hoc requests for equipment.
Exam Invigilation.
Event Support - refreshments, etc at Parents Evenings, Concerts and Award Ceremonies.
Donations - The Steel Sculpture outside the school.
Raffle Prizes.
Personnel for all events.
Publicity material.
Usually twice a year to 'round up' the term. Summer barbeque or festive drink.
